I’m captivated by the craftsmanship of a well-made shoe. My goal is to capture its beauty and character while conveying it’s unique story.

My sculptures each start with a pair of shoes purchased from Goodwill. Used shoes, more than other clothing, evoke a history, tales of journeys taken, adventures had, and challenges overcome.
They offer a glimpse into their previous owners’ lives and the places they've wandered.
Shoes can embody the passage of time, showing the weathering from years of wear.
From bustling city streets to campus ovals, from school gymnasiums to raucous dance halls, from mountain trails to quiet country roads, scuffs and worn soles speak of hardships faced and obstacles conquered.
